Role Summary:
The Audio Team Lead is responsible for managing and delivering high-quality sound for church services and events. This role includes operating the front-of-house (FOH) audio system, overseeing monitor mixes, and ensuring clear and balanced audio for in-person and online experiences. The Audio Team Lead recruits, trains, and leads a team of volunteers to provide an excellent audio environment that enhances worship and message delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audio Mixing & Operation:
- Set up, calibrate, and operate FOH and monitor audio systems for services and events.
- Ensure a clear, balanced mix for worship, speakers, and other audio elements.
- Optimize audio for both in-room and online live streams.
- Technical Management:
- Maintain and troubleshoot audio equipment, including mixers, microphones, and signal processors.
- Ensure cables, microphones, and other audio components are properly set up, labeled, and stored.
- Manage firmware updates and audio system configurations.
- Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and schedule audio volunteers for FOH and monitor mixing roles.
- Provide ongoing training and mentorship to team members.
- Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and spiritual growth within the team.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with worship leaders, speakers, and the production director to achieve desired audio outcomes.
- Attend rehearsals to fine-tune audio mixes and address technical needs.
- Communicate effectively with the video and lighting teams to ensure seamless production.
- Creative Innovation:
- Stay informed on audio technology advancements and techniques.
- Implement creative audio solutions for special services and events.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in digital and analog audio consoles
- Strong understanding of EQ, compression, and signal routing
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Leadership and team management experience
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and adapt to dynamic service flows
Time Commitment:
- Weekly Sunday services and occasional midweek events
